Spread the Love

Every few months, we ask our followers and customers to nominate a charity who we could lend a helping hand. We will donate 5% of our profits made that month to the selected charity, along with promoting their cause on our social media platforms and this page of our website. Whether it is a struggling individual, or a huge natural disaster, the Nomads want to help!

We are seeking more charities and causes to lend a helping hand. Email us at info@namastecollective.com.au with suggestions of any charities and causes we can help out. We will be changing the charity on roughly a monthly basis, and spreading our Namaste Vibes around the world.

Lets work together and make a difference!

2017:

We are currently open for nominations for this period - feel free to shoot us an email, be it for a friend, a stranger or a huge international cause - we WANT to help! We have $$$ ready and waiting!

In July, August, September, October, November and December

For this quarter, we will be donating 5% of our profits to help Mitch Fletcher. Mitch is confined to a wheelchair because of a condition that progressively weakens his muscles, and he requires 24-hour care. However, like any other 25 year-old, Mitch is determined to get out and enjoy life to the fullest, and we want to help him!

Unfortunately, the main thing holding Mitch back currently is transport. Mitch’s current van is now 20 years old, and it is making daily trips extremely uncomfortable and difficult. There is very limited government funding for these kinds of expenses, despite them being quite a necessity! A new customised van for Mitch would mean he, his family, and his friends, would be able to comfortably get around without the need to rent expensive cars for every outing.

The desired van is not cheap, at $70,000, so please help Mitch and his family out by providing a small donation here. Every bit counts, and Mitch is extremely appreciative at the overwhelming support he has received this far.

In August and September 2015:

We will donate 5% of profits made, and will encourage support for the 'Sony Foundation You Can' program.

You Can is a national Sony Foundation program. Its aim is to provide specialised youth cancer centres and services around Australia to address the current gap in the health care system. Currently, young Australians with cancer are a ‘forgotten generation’ who are falling through the gaps of our medical system. Young people aged between 16 and 25 have significantly poorer survival rates than children and older adults due to a lack of access to age appropriate care.

On behalf of young people living with cancer, the long term aim of ‘You Can’ is to fund the establishment of youth cancer centres and services throughout the country in partnership with CanTeen and the federal government. These will address the lack of improvement in cancer survival rates by providing a focus for medical collaboration amongst medical professionals, facilitating the development of clinical trials, encouraging specialist training and allowing for the delivery of a psychosocial support service equipped to deal with the issues specific to this age group.

Australia’s first You Can Centre was opened in Perth in 2013, and centres in Sydney and Melbourne are currently under construction. We are thrilled that both are due to open in 2016. To find out more, visit www.sonyfoundation.org.au

In July 2015:

We will be donating 5% of profits made, and encouraging support for the not-for-profit organisation “ ONEWAVE”.

ONEWAVE is a surf community raising awareness for those who are, in their terminology, ‘in a funk’. Being in a ‘funk’ may encompass anything from depression, anxiety to bipolar. They help people going through a ‘funk’ by providing them with a day in the refreshing saltwater surfing, allowing them to get that ‘one wave’ and put a smile back on their face.

Each Friday, ONEWAVE encourages ‘Fluro Friday’ at multiple beaches around Australia to help raise awareness for those struggling with mental illnesses. As seen below, this can attract hundreds to the local beaches, decked out in Fluro, and all with a smile on their face. They want to let those struggling know that they are not alone. ONEWAVE is all for other beaches getting involved in Fluro Friday, and would love you to get in touch to help set something new up, where ever you may be. Get in touch with the inspiring guys through their Facebook page or their or their Instagram! (@onewaveisallittakes).
